What is ‘Streaming’ TV? A getting started guide from your friends at CTC Technology

As the programming costs of TV continue to rise, you might wonder what other options exist that allow you to ‘watch TV’. If you have CTC Internet, we can help! Streaming video, with providers like Netflix, YouTube TV, Hulu, etc may be an option you can use to compliment your existing TV package or even replace it.

What is ‘streaming?’ Simply, it is using your CTC Internet connection and an app (short for application) on a smart TV to watch TV programming. Streaming delivers live or recorded movies, TV shows and/or sports to your TV in a different (often less expensive) manner. If you have a Smart TV and Internet, you are ready to stream! If you do not have a Smart TV, you can connect a device (see info below for examples) to get you started streaming.

An advantage to streaming over traditional cable TV, is you can subscribe to a streaming service for a month or two, then unsubscribe - which allows you to be in control of your programming and the price you pay per month for TV.
